Peace doesn’t stand a chance against bitter and wounded souls. It prevails once crippled hearts are minded. ‘Peace’, by definition, is “the absence of war or other hostilities, an agreement or a treaty to end hostilities, public security, order, inner contentment or serenity, freedom from quarrels and disagreement” – a state and observance of harmonious relations.
Pondering the definition, one could imagine many peoples, places and circumstances where the sincere or false battle for peace is waged. Such chaotic struggles can be observed on a personal level or on the global stage. One historical and current struggle for peace between ‘GOoD’ souls is that which is demonstrated by the conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis.
Since 1948, “the violence resulting from the conflict has prompted international actions, as well as other security and human rights concerns, both within and between both sides, and internationally.”
Their public discourse, disagreements, attempts at numerous peace talks (honest or frivolous) have been heard the world over, and continue to this day. And for 63 years none, at the least, and little at best has been accomplished. One wonders if “peace” is the…click here to continue reading.
